REVIEW OF RUBINA RAMESH'S KNITTED TALES.

The Blurb -

What forces an innocent girl to become a sex symbol? Her desires? Or cruel fate?

Is a lifetime enough—for avenging a betrayal? How do you hide secrets that never stopped haunting you?

Can vengeance and secrets of your past devastate your present? How can long-buried crimes of yours suddenly raise their head? Can sinning be saving?

Is your spouse your soulmate? What if they never understood your feelings? Can you still live with them?

Lastly, does life give only two options? Live or die? What if there is a third?

In her debut anthology, Rubina Ramesh tries to find answers to these questions that are often from the heart and yet makes the mind ponder over the solution. Or is it the other way round? Either way, Knitted Tales is a bouquet of emotions that is bound to touch both your head and your heart.

My Review -

Our life is a web of emotions and feelings. We can be fragile and vulnerable yet also strong enough to face the storm. Life can be good, bad or ugly; a tapestry of black, white and everything in between yet with the brilliance of rainbow to chase away the blues. This is what Rubina's stories are about - the whole spectrum of emotions.

The stories will make you smile, sad, angry and maybe rake up some good old memoirs...and also not so good old memories. But stir you they will!

I in awe of Rubina's writings because of the twists in the tale which comes as a surprise, always! I will never be able to climb the staircase without connecting them to some memory nor will I be able to see a mountain as some inanimate entity standing proud and tall. I see them with a whole new perspective now.

The characters in these stories are from all walks of life - educated middle class, the tribals, the rich and the young. Many of the female characters come across as strong without showing this as a dominant trait .

These are the women we see every day, every where, going about their lives without much ado. That's why I liked the cover of this book which shows the face of a woman which is subtle.

Go grab this book for a quick and super roller coaster ride of emotions and trust me you will come out feeling good.
